Preparation of Salad Base
- 1
Make the Vinaigrette
In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, fresh basil leaves, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- 2
Prepare the Lettuce
Wash and dry the Bibb lettuce leaves. Tear the leaves into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large salad bowl.
- 3
Toss Salad
Drizzle the basil-Dijon vinaigrette over the lettuce and toss gently to coat all leaves evenly.
Toppings Preparation
- 4
Toast Almonds
In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the sliced almonds. Toast them for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 5
Melt the Brie
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the Brie cheese on a baking sheet and bake for about 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is soft and gooey.
Assembly
- 6
Assemble the Salad
Once the Brie is melted, remove it from the oven. Spoon the warm Brie over the tossed Bibb lettuce, and sprinkle the toasted almonds on top.
- 7
Serve
Serve immediately while the Brie is still warm, drizzling any remaining vinaigrette over the top if desired.
