Prepare the Cream Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until pale and fluffy, about 5 minutes.

Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese until smooth and well combined.

Whip the Cream
In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully incorporated. Set aside.
Prepare the Coffee Mixture

Brew Coffee
Brew the espresso or strong coffee and let it cool slightly.

Mix in Liqueur
If using, stir in the coffee liqueur to the brewed coffee.
Assemble the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

In a rectangular dish, arrange half of the soaked ladyfingers at the bottom.

Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the ladyfingers.

Repeat the process with the remaining ladyfingers and cream.
