Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Season the Beef

In a bowl, season the 8 oz USDA prime beef patty with 1 tsp of salt and 0.5 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently to combine.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Shape the seasoned beef into a patty about 3/4 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patty

Cook the beef patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place your choice of cheese (cheddar or Swiss) on top of the patty and cover to melt.

Caramelizing Onions

  1. 6

    Caramelize the Onions

In a separate pan, add sliced onions and a little oil over medium heat. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden brown and caramelized.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 7

    Prepare the Bun

Toast the brioche bun lightly on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 8

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of the bun, layer the lettuce, cooked beef patty with melted cheese, caramelized onions, tomato slice, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

Cooking the Fries

  1. 9

    Prepare the Fries

Cook the frozen fries according to package instructions until they are crispy.

Serving

  1. 10

    Plate the Dish

Serve the assembled burger on a plate alongside the crispy fries.
