Preparing the Burger Patty

In a bowl, season the 8 oz USDA prime beef patty with 1 tsp of salt and 0.5 tsp of black pepper. Mix gently to combine.

Shape the seasoned beef into a patty about 3/4 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Patty
Cook the beef patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and cook for another 4-5 minutes, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

Add Cheese
During the last minute of cooking, place your choice of cheese (cheddar or Swiss) on top of the patty and cover to melt.
