Preparation
- 1
Clean the Scallops
Rinse the sea scallops under cold water to remove any debris. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they sear properly.
- 2
Prepare the Coating
In a shallow dish, combine the all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure an even distribution of seasonings.
Cooking
- 3
Coat the Scallops
Dredge each scallop in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour.
- 4
Heat the Oils
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- 5
Sear the Scallops
Carefully place the coated scallops in the hot oil. Sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
