Preparation of Sashimi

Selecting Fish
Choose high-quality, fresh fish from a reputable source. Ensure that it is labeled as sashimi-grade.

Cutting the Fish
Using a sharp knife, slice the fresh tuna, salmon, yellowtail, scallops, and octopus into thin, even pieces. Aim for about 1/4 inch thick slices.

Plating the Sashimi
Arrange the sashimi slices on a chilled plate, alternating between different types of fish for visual appeal.
Serving

Adding Condiments
Place a small dollop of wasabi next to the sashimi and serve soy sauce in a small dish for dipping.

Including Pickled Ginger
Add pickled ginger on the side for palate cleansing between different types of sashimi.

If requested, serve a bowl of miso soup or a cup of seaweed salad alongside the sashimi.
