Main Ingredients

Teriyaki Sauce

Garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation of Teriyaki Sauce

  1. 1

    Make the Teriyaki Sauce

In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, sesame oil, cornstarch, and water. Stir well to combine.

  2. 2

    Heat the Sauce

Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a simmer. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking the Salmon and Vegetables

  1. 3

    Prepare the Salmon

Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides.

  2. 4

    Cook the Salmon

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down. Cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the salmon is cooked through.

  3. 5

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet, add snow peas and sliced carrots. Sauté for about 3-4 minutes until they are tender but still crisp.

  4. 6

    Combine with Sauce

Pour the teriyaki sauce over the cooked salmon and vegetables. Allow everything to simmer together for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Serving

  1. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Transfer the salmon and vegetables to a serving plate. Drizzle with any remaining teriyaki sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve hot.
