Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Remove the New York Strip Steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. This helps the steak cook evenly.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Rub the steak with olive oil, then season both sides generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.

  3. 3

    Cut the Vegetables

While the steak is resting, slice the zucchini, bell pepper, and onion into strips. Clean and slice the mushrooms.

Cooking

  1. 4

Preheat the Grill or Grill Pan

Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Ensure it is hot before placing the steak on it.

  2. 5

    Cook the Steak

Place the steak on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Use a meat thermometer to check.

  3. 6

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate skillet, add a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced vegetables and sauté for 5-7 minutes until they are tender. Add soy sauce towards the end of cooking.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve the sliced steak alongside the sautéed vegetables.

  2. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top for added flavor and presentation.
