Holiday Lunch Ingredients

Method

Holiday Lunch Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Turkey

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Rub the turkey breast with olive oil, garlic powder, thyme, rosemary, salt, and black pepper. Place the turkey in a roasting pan.

  2. 2

    Roast the Turkey

Roast the turkey breast in the preheated oven for about 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let it rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Green Beans

While the turkey is roasting, bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch for about 3-4 minutes until bright green. Drain and immediately plunge into ice water to stop cooking.

  4. 4

    Toast the Almonds

In a dry skillet over medium heat, toast the sliced almonds until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Stir frequently to prevent burning.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Mashed Potatoes

In a large pot, boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and return to the pot. Add butter and milk, mashing until smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Lunch

Slice the turkey and serve it with cranberry sauce on the side. Plate the green beans topped with toasted almonds and serve the mashed potatoes alongside.
