Meatballs and Sauce
Method
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meatballs
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, red chili flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined.
- 2
Form the Meatballs
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet.
- 3
Cook the Meatballs
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.
- 4
Make the Pomodoro Sauce
In the same skillet, add crushed tomatoes and bring to a simmer. Stir in chopped basil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- 5
Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Return the meatballs to the skillet and let them simmer in the sauce for about 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- 6
Serve
Plate the meatballs topped with sauce, garnished with sliced red onion, diced fresh tomatoes, pickled chili peppers, and a dollop of crème fraiche.
