Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slow Roast the Beef

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the beef chuck roast with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  2. 2

In a large oven-safe pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the seasoned roast on all sides until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  3. 3

Cover the pan with aluminum foil and transfer it to the preheated oven. Roast for about 3-4 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Sandwich

Once the beef is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing it thinly.

  5. 5

On a sub roll or hoagie, layer slices of roast beef, followed by provolone cheese, a handful of arugula, giardiniera, and sport peppers.

  6. 6

Drizzle with white sauce and serve immediately.
