Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tomatoes

Wash and chop the heirloom tomatoes into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a bowl and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and toss gently. Set aside to marinate.

  2. 2

    Grill the Sourdough

Preheat a grill pan or an outdoor grill over medium heat. Brush both sides of the sourdough slices with olive oil. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and grill marks appear. Remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Dish

On a serving platter, arrange the grilled sourdough slices. Tear the burrata cheese into pieces and place it on top of the bread. Spoon the marinated heirloom tomatoes over the cheese and drizzle with the remaining balsamic vinegar.

  4. 4

    Garnish and Serve

Tear the fresh basil leaves and sprinkle them over the top. Drizzle with a little more olive oil, if desired. Serve immediately.
