Preparation Instructions
- 1
Step 1: Prepare Your Glass
Begin by selecting a lowball glass or an old-fashioned glass. If desired, chill the glass by placing it in the freezer for a few minutes or filling it with ice water while you prepare the drink.
- 2
Step 2: Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 1 cup of gin, 1 cup of Campari, and 1 cup of sweet vermouth.
- 3
Step 3: Add Ice
Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes to the top. This will chill and dilute the ingredients as you stir.
- 4
Step 4: Stir the Cocktail
Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled and combined. The goal is to chill the drink without overly diluting it.
- 5
Step 5: Strain into Glass
Remove the ice from your chilled glass (if previously chilled) and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass using a fine mesh strainer.
- 6
Step 6: Garnish
Take an orange peel and twist it over the drink to release its oils. Then, place the peel into the drink as a garnish.
- 7
Step 7: Serve
Serve immediately and enjoy your classic Negroni cocktail!
