Preparation

  1. 1

    Boiling Method

    1. Peel the yukka/cassava and cut it into 1-inch chunks. 2. In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. 3. Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the boiling water. 4. Add the cassava chunks to the pot and boil for about 20-25 minutes or until tender. 5. Drain the cassava and let it cool slightly before serving.

    Frying Method

    1. After boiling the cassava as described above, allow it to cool completely. 2. Cut the boiled cassava into slices or wedges. 3. In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat 1 cup of oil over medium-high heat. 4. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the cassava slices to the oil in batches. 5. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes per side. 6. Remove the fried cassava and place it on paper towels to drain excess oil before serving.
