Boil Water
In a large pot, bring a generous amount of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.
- 2
Cook Fettuccine
Add the fettuccine pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- 3
Drain Pasta

Making Ragu Sauce
- 4
Heat Olive Oil
In a large skillet or saucepan, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

Sauté Vegetables
Add the chopped onion, diced carrots, and diced celery to the skillet. Sauté until the vegetables are soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- 6
Add Garlic
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- 7
Cook Ground Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spatula, about 5-6 minutes.
- 8
Add Tomatoes and Seasoning
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and red wine. Bring to a simmer.
- 9
Simmer Sauce
Reduce heat to low and let the ragu sauce simmer for about 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combining and Serving
- 10
