Method
Preparation of Espresso Mixture
- 1
Brew Espresso
In a coffee maker or espresso machine, brew 240 ml of espresso coffee. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
- 2
Mix Espresso with Rum
In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 60 ml of rum. Stir gently to combine and set aside.
Prepare the Mascarpone Mixture
- 3
Whip Mascarpone
In a large mixing bowl, add 500 grams of mascarpone cheese. Using a whisk or electric mixer, whip it until smooth and creamy.
Assembling the Tiramisu
- 4
Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso-rum mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
- 5
Layer Ladyfingers and Mascarpone
In a rectangular dish, arrange a layer of dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Spread half of the whipped mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
- 6
Repeat Layers
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers on top of the mascarpone, followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture.
Chilling and Serving
- 7
Chill the Tiramisu
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
- 8
Dust with Cocoa Powder
Before serving, dust the top of the tiramisu with 30 grams of cocoa powder using a fine sieve.
- 9
Serve
Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
