Method
Dough Preparation
- 1
Activate the Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, until it becomes frothy.
- 2
Mix the Dough
In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough begins to form.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Assembly and Baking
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat.
- 6
Prepare the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release air. Roll it out on a floured surface into your desired pizza shape and thickness.
- 7
Add Tomato Sauce
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the rolled-out dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 8
Add Toppings
Evenly distribute the spicy salame, gorgonzola cheese, and mozzarella cheese over the sauce. Sprinkle dried oregano on top.
- 9
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza to the hot oven (or pizza stone) and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 10
Slice and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, slice, and serve hot.
