Prepare the Patties
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.

Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove and let drain on paper towels.

Grill the Patties
Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side until desired doneness is reached. Add a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

Assemble the Burgers
On the bottom half of each bun, layer lettuce, a burger patty with melted cheese, bacon, tomato slices, onion slices, pickles, crispy onions, and drizzle with BBQ sauce. Top with the other half of the bun.
