Cedar Plank Salmon Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Cedar Plank

Soak the cedar plank in water for at least 1 hour to prevent it from catching fire during cooking.

  2. 2

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Salmon

Pat the salmon filet dry with a paper towel and brush both sides with olive oil. Season with salt and black pepper.

  4. 4

    Place Salmon on Cedar Plank

Once the grill is ready, place the soaked cedar plank on the grill grates. Close the lid and heat for about 3-4 minutes until it starts to smoke.

  5. 5

    Add the Salmon

Carefully place the seasoned salmon filet on the cedar plank. If using, brush the filet with Jamaican brown sugar glaze or squeeze fresh lemon juice over it.

  6. 6

    Cook the Salmon

Close the grill lid and cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  7. 7

    Serve

Remove the cedar plank from the grill using tongs, and let the salmon rest for a few minutes. Serve with your choice of house side dish.
