Ingredients for Au Gratin Potatoes

Method

Directions for Au Gratin Potatoes

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Peel and thinly slice the Russet potatoes into uniform rounds.

  2. 2

    Make the Cream Mixture

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Then stir in the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Heat until warm but not boiling.

  3. 3

    Layer the Potatoes

In a greased baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes. Pour half of the cream mixture over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream, and cheese.

  4. 4

    Bake

Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.

  5. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
