Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Peanuts

Rinse the raw green peanuts under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.

  2. 2

    Boil the Peanuts

In a large pot, combine the rinsed peanuts, water, smoked ham hock, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.

  3. 3

    Simmer

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 3 to 4 hours, or until the peanuts are tender.

  4. 4

    Add Pepper Vinegar

During the last 30 minutes of cooking, add the pepper vinegar to the pot. Stir to combine.

  5. 5

    Serve

Once the peanuts are tender, remove the pot from heat. Serve warm in a bowl, including some of the cooking liquid and ham hock pieces for flavor.
