Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Garlic

Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 3

    Combine Tomatoes and Broth

Add the crushed tomatoes, vegetable broth, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar to the pot. Stir well.

  4. 4

    Simmer

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  5. 5

    Blend Soup

Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth. Alternatively, carefully transfer the soup in batches to a regular blender.

  6. 6

    Add Cream and Serve

Stir in the heavy cream and heat through. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil.
