For the Tater Tots

For the Truffle Oil Drizzle

Method

Preparation of Tater Tots

  1. 1

    Cook the Potatoes

Peel and dice the Russet potatoes into small chunks. Boil them in salted water for about 15 minutes until tender. Drain and let them cool.

  2. 2

    Mash and Season

Once the potatoes have cooled, mash them in a large bowl until smooth. Add cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.

  3. 3

    Shape the Tater Tots

Take small portions of the potato mixture and shape them into small cylindrical forms, about 1 inch long. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  4. 4

    Freeze the Tater Tots

Place the shaped tater tots in the freezer for at least 1 hour to firm up.

Cooking the Tater Tots

  1. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 6

    Fry the Tater Tots

Carefully add the frozen tater tots to the hot oil in batches. Fry them for about 4-5 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.

  3. 7

    Drain and Season

Remove the tater tots from the oil and drain them on paper towels. Sprinkle with additional salt if desired.

Truffle Oil Drizzle

  1. 8

    Prepare the Drizzle

In a small bowl, combine the truffle oil, grated Parmesan cheese, and chopped parsley. Mix well.

  2. 9

    Serve

Drizzle the truffle oil mixture over the hot tater tots before serving. Enjoy!
