Maple Sugar Butter Ingredients

Method

Popover Directions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a popover pan or muffin tin in the oven to heat up.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Batter

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, melted butter, and ground black pepper. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the grated smoked Parmesan cheese.

  3. 3

    Fill the Pan

Carefully remove the hot popover pan from the oven. Lightly grease the cups with butter or oil. Pour the batter into the cups, filling them about 2/3 full.

  4. 4

    Bake the Popovers

Bake the popovers in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are puffed up and golden brown. Avoid opening the oven door during the first 15 minutes of baking.

  5. 5

    Cool and Serve

Once baked, remove the popovers from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. They are best served warm.

Maple Sugar Butter Directions

  1. 6

    Mix the Butter

In a small bowl, combine the softened unsalted butter, maple sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until well blended.

  2. 7

    Serve with Popovers

Transfer the maple sugar butter to a serving dish and serve alongside the warm smoked Parmesan popovers.
