Method

For the Strawberry Compote

  1. 1

    Prepare the Strawberries

Wash the fresh strawberries under cold water. Remove the stems and cut them into quarters.

  2. 2

    Cook the Compote

In a medium saucepan, combine the quartered strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the strawberries have softened and the mixture has thickened slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool.

For the Smoked Burrata

  1. 3

    Prepare the Burrata

Place the burrata cheese on a heatproof plate. Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar over the top of the cheese.

  2. 4

    Brulee the Burrata

Using a kitchen torch, carefully brulee the sugar on top of the burrata until it melts and caramelizes, creating a crispy layer. Be cautious not to burn it.

  3. 5

    Add Smoked Salt

Sprinkle the smoked salt over the bruleed burrata for added flavor.

For the Garnish

  1. 6

    Prepare the Pistachios

Roughly chop the roasted pistachios and set them aside for garnishing.

  2. 7

    Prepare the Mint

Chop the fresh mint leaves finely and set aside.

To Assemble

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

On a serving platter, spoon the cooled strawberry compote in the center. Place the bruleed burrata on top of the compote.

  2. 9

    Add Garnish

Sprinkle the chopped pistachios and mint leaves over the burrata and around the plate for a beautiful presentation.
