Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash the Spinach

Thoroughly rinse the fresh spinach under cold water to remove any dirt or sand. Drain it well and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Garlic

Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. Set aside for sautéing.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until it shimmers.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

Add the chopped garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

  3. 5

    Add the Spinach

Gradually add the washed spinach to the skillet. It may seem like a lot, but it will wilt down significantly.

  4. 6

    Season and Cook

Sprinkle the salt and black pepper over the spinach. Continue to sauté for 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the spinach is wilted and tender.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Remove the skillet from the heat and transfer the sautéed garlic spinach to a serving dish. Serve immediately as a side dish or atop a main course.
