Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Marinade

In a mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the flat iron steaks in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steaks, ensuring they are fully coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Prepare the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat or heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat on the stovetop.

  2. 4

    Cook the Steak

Remove the steaks from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Place the steaks on the grill or in the hot skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  3. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill or skillet and let them rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 6

    Slice and Serve

Slice the steak against the grain and serve on plates. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon wedges if desired.
