Steak

Caramelized Onions and Sautéed Mushrooms

Method

Preparing the Ribeye

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Remove the ribeye steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Grill the Steak

Preheat the grill to high heat. Brush the ribeye with olive oil and place it on the grill. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes.

Caramelizing Onions and Sautéing Mushrooms

  1. 3

    Cook the Onions

In a skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. Add sliced onions and cook, stirring frequently, until caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Mushrooms

In another skillet, melt the remaining tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté until mushrooms are browned and tender, about 7-10 minutes.

Making the Stout Butter

  1. 5

    Mix the Stout Butter

In a small bowl, combine softened butter, stout beer, and chopped herbs. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Preparing the Steak Sauce

  1. 6

    Combine the Ingredients

In a bowl, mix together ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and hot sauce. Adjust seasoning to taste.
