Waffle and Toppings
Method
Preparation and Assembly
- 1
Make the Waffle Batter
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- 2
Cook the Waffles
Preheat your waffle iron. Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.
- 3
Prepare the Brûléed Bananas
Slice the bananas in half lengthwise and place them cut-side up on a baking sheet. Sprinkle granulated sugar evenly over the bananas. Use a kitchen torch to brûlée the sugar until caramelized. If you don't have a torch, broil them in the oven for a few minutes until caramelized.
- 4
Make the Peanut Butter Sauce
In a small saucepan, heat the peanut butter over low heat, stirring until it becomes creamy. Add honey and mix until combined. Remove from heat.
- 5
Whip the Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. You can add a bit of sugar or vanilla for sweetness if desired.
- 6
Assemble the King Waffle
Place two waffles on a plate. Top with the brûléed bananas, drizzle with peanut butter sauce, and honey. Add a generous dollop of whipped cream on top.
