Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Truffle Aioli

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, truffle oil, minced garlic, and salt. Mix well and set aside.

  2. 2

    Cook the Mushrooms

In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of truffle oil. Once hot, add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until golden brown, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from heat.

  3. 3

    Form the Patties

Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and form into patties. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  4. 4

    Cook the Patties

In the same skillet used for the mushrooms, cook the patties over medium-high heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Swiss cheese on each patty to melt.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the pretzel buns if desired. Spread the truffle aioli on the bottom half of each bun. Place a patty on each bun, top with sautéed mushrooms, add a handful of haystacks, and cover with the top half of the bun.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the burgers immediately with additional haystacks on the side if desired.
