Maple Bourbon Chicken And Waffle Recipe
Fried chicken tossed in our hot maple bourbon sauce, served on top of two homemade waffles. Topped with candied chili pepper bacon. Garnished with scallions.

Prepare the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 30 minutes.

Fry the Chicken
Dredge marinated chicken in flour and fry in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain on paper towels.

Make the Maple Bourbon Sauce
In a saucepan, combine maple syrup and bourbon, and bring to a simmer. Allow to reduce slightly for about 5 minutes. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce.

Cook the Bacon
Cook candied chili pepper bacon in a skillet until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.

Assemble the Dish
Place two waffles on each plate, top with the fried chicken coated in maple bourbon sauce, then crumble the candied bacon over the top. Garnish with chopped scallions.
