Beef Patties

Bun and Toppings

Method

Prepare the Beef Patties

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined.

  2. 2

    Form Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick.

Cook the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until they reach your desired doneness.

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Slice the Tomato

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato into thin rounds.

  2. 6

    Wash the Spinach

Rinse the fresh spinach under cold water and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel.

  3. 7

    Prepare the Pickles

If using whole pickles, slice them into rounds or spears as desired.

Assemble the Hamburger

  1. 8

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the whole wheat hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until lightly browned.

  2. 9

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each bun, place a layer of spinach, followed by a cooked beef patty, tomato slices, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
