Fried Chicken Thigh
Method
Directions
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, combine the chicken thighs and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best results.
- 2
Prepare the Flour Mixture
In another bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Dredge the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large heavy-bottomed pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully add the chicken thighs to the hot oil, frying in batches if necessary. Cook for about 6-8 minutes per side or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
- 7
Serve
Serve the fried chicken thighs hot with pickles and hize sauce on the side.
