Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Chop the paneer into cubes, finely chop the onion, and dice the tomatoes. Grate the ginger and mince the garlic.

  2. 2

    Caramelize the Onion

In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onions and sauté until they turn golden brown. This should take about 10-12 minutes.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Cook the Base

Add the cumin seeds to the caramelized onions and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Then add the grated ginger and minced garlic, sautéing for an additional 2 minutes.

  2. 4

    Add Tomatoes and Spices

Stir in the diced tomatoes along with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes break down and the oil starts to separate, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 5

    Add Peas and Paneer

Add the fresh peas and paneer cubes to the mixture. Stir well and cook for about 5 minutes until the peas are tender.

  4. 6

Finish with Cream and Garam Masala

Lower the heat, add the cream and garam masala, and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
