Dumplings

Method

Dumpling Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead until a smooth dough forms. Let it rest for 30 minutes, covered with a damp cloth.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a separate bowl, combine the minced meat or vegetables with ground black pepper and vegetable oil. Mix well until evenly combined.

  3. 3

    Shape the Dumplings

Divide the rested dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle. Place a spoonful of filling in the center, fold and pleat the edges to seal the dumpling securely.

Korma Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté the Onion

In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.

  2. 5

    Add Spices

Stir in the ginger-garlic paste, ground coriander, ground cumin, and turmeric powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Add Coconut Milk

Pour in the coconut milk and stir well. Season with salt to taste. Add the slit green chili for additional heat. Let simmer for 10 minutes.

Cooking the Dumplings

  1. 7

    Steam the Dumplings

Place the prepared dumplings in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper. Steam over boiling water for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through.

  2. 8

    Combine with Korma Sauce

Once the dumplings are cooked, gently transfer them to the pan with the korma sauce. Stir to coat the dumplings evenly in the sauce. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.

  3. 9

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro, and serve hot with extra sauce on the side.
