Dough

For Frying

Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth and elastic dough. Cover with a damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.

Filling Preparation

  1. 2

    Prepare the Filling

In a bowl, mix ground meat, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.

Chutney Sauce Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Chutney Sauce

In a blender, combine chopped tomatoes, green chilies, chopped coriander leaves, salt, and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Adjust seasoning as needed. Set aside.

Momo Assembly and Cooking

  1. 4

    Assemble the Momos

Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a circle (about 3 inches wide). Place a tablespoon of filling in the center of each circle. Fold the dough over the filling to create a half-moon shape and pinch the edges to seal securely.

  2. 5

    Fry the Momos

In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium heat. Carefully add the momos in batches and fry until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.
