Method

Making Dumpling Wrapper

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and salt. Gradually add water and vegetable oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough for about 5-10 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Preparing the Filling

  1. 2

    Make the Filling

In a pan, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, and ginger; sauté until fragrant. Add cabbage, carrot, and green chilies. Cook for about 5 minutes until vegetables are tender. Allow to cool.

Making Dumplings

  1. 3

    Assemble the Dumplings

Divide the rested dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center, fold the dough over, and pinch the edges to seal. Repeat until all dough and filling are used.

Preparing the 65 Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Sauce

In a bowl, combine yogurt, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth paste.

Cooking the Dumplings

  1. 5

    Steam the Dumplings

Steam the prepared dumplings in a steamer for about 15-20 minutes until cooked through. Allow them to cool slightly before tossing them in the 65 sauce.

Preparing Chili/Manchurian Sauce

  1. 6

    Mix the Chili/Manchurian Sauce

In a bowl, combine soy sauce, tomato ketchup, chili sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger, green bell pepper, and spring onions. Stir well to combine.

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve the Dish

Toss the steamed dumplings in the 65 sauce and serve immediately. Alternatively, you can serve them with the Chili/Manchurian sauce for a spicy twist.
