Marinade
For Grilling
Method
Marinade Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a large bowl, combine the plain yogurt, lemon juice, minced garlic, grated ginger, ground cumin, ground coriander, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Cut the boneless chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Coat the chicken pieces thoroughly with the marinade. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight for maximum flavor.
Grilling
- 3
Prepare Skewers
If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for at least 30 minutes to prevent burning during grilling. This will help them hold the chicken pieces securely.
- 4
Skewer the Chicken
Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto the soaked skewers, leaving a small space between each piece for even cooking.
- 5
Preheat the Grill
Prepare your clay oven or grill by preheating it to a high temperature (around 200°C or 400°F).
- 6
Grill the Chicken
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has a nice char on the outside.
