Tuna Steak and Sides

Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. This will be used to marinate the tuna steaks.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Tuna

Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Potatoes

While the tuna is marinating, peel and cut the potatoes into chunks. Boil in salted water for about 15-20 minutes or until tender. Drain and toss with butter and fresh parsley.

  4. 4

    Cook the Vegetables

In a separate pan, steam or sauté your choice of seasonal vegetables for about 5-7 minutes until tender but still crisp. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  5. 5

    Cook the Tuna Steaks

Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the tuna from the marinade and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer it well done.

  6. 6

    Plate the Dish

Serve the tuna steak alongside the buttered potatoes and the sautéed or steamed vegetables. Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
