Prepare the BBQ Sauce (if making homemade)
In a small saucepan, combine your favorite BBQ sauce ingredients (like ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, vinegar, and spices). Simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, then let cool.

Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels to drain excess grease.

Form and Cook the Patties
Divide the ground beef into two equal portions (about 1/2 pound each). Form each portion into a ball and then smash it down onto a hot skillet or griddle. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and place a slice of cheddar on each patty. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted.

Serve
Serve the burgers immediately with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
