Preparing the Base
- 1
Prepare the Fruits
Wash the fresh local apples and sour cherries thoroughly. Core and slice the apples into bite-sized pieces, and pit the sour cherries if necessary.
- 2
Cook the Mixture
In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced apples, sour cherries, granulated sugar, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar.
- 3
Add Flavorings
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add the lemon juice and cinnamon stick. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the fruits are tender and the mixture has thickened slightly.
- 4
Serving the Drink
- 5
Prepare the Glasses
Fill two tall glasses with crushed ice, about one cup each.
- 6
Pour the Mixture
Pour the cooled fruit mixture over the crushed ice, filling the glasses to the top.
