Method

Infused Whiskey Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Infusion

In a clean glass jar, combine the Jack Daniel's whiskey with the blackberries and sugar. Seal the jar tightly and let it sit in a cool, dark place for at least 48 hours, shaking it gently once a day.

  2. 2

    Strain the Infusion

After 48 hours, strain the mixture using a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the blackberries and any solids. Store the infused whiskey in a clean bottle.

Bitters Preparation

  1. 3

    Make the Aromatic Bitters

Combine the Angostura bitters, orange peel, and a cinnamon stick in a small jar. Let it sit for 24 hours to infuse the flavors together, shaking occasionally. After 24 hours, strain and store the bitters in a small bottle.

Cocktail Assembly

  1. 4

    Mix the Cocktail

In a mixing glass, add 60 ml of the blackberry-infused Jack Daniel's and 60 ml of sweet vermouth. Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

  2. 5

    Strain and Serve

Strain the mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Add a few dashes of the house-made aromatic bitters on top.

  3. 6

    Garnish

Garnish the drink with a fresh blackberry on the rim of the glass.
