Preparation
- 1
Rinse the Cranberries
Place the fresh cranberries in a colander and rinse them under cold water to remove any dirt or debris.
- 2
Combine Ingredients
In a large saucepan, combine the rinsed cranberries, water, and granulated sugar.
- 3
Cook the Mixture
Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cranberries have burst and softened.
- 4
Strain the Juice
Remove the saucepan from heat. Using a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain the mixture into a large bowl or pitcher to separate the juice from the cranberry pulp. Press down on the solids to extract as much juice as possible.
- 5
Cool and Store
Allow the juice to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a clean bottle or jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- 6
Serve
Serve the cranberry juice chilled. You can dilute it with water or add ice if desired.
