Method

Churro Pastries

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

  2. 2

    Add Flour

Once the mixture is boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Incorporate Eggs

Allow the dough to cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing until fully incorporated after each addition.

  4. 4

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  5. 5

    Fry Churros

Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe the dough into the hot oil in 4-5 inch lengths. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

  6. 6

    Drain and Cool

Remove churros from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Cinnamon Sugar

  1. 7

    Mix Cinnamon Sugar

In a shallow bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.

  2. 8

    Coat Churros

While the churros are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until fully coated.

Assemble Sandwich

  1. 9

    Scoop Ice Cream

Take two churros and place one scoop of your chosen ice cream flavor between them.

  2. 10
