BBQ Sauce Preparation
- 1
Make the BBQ Sauce
In a medium saucepan, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and set aside.
Coleslaw Preparation
- 2
Prepare the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, mix together shredded cabbage, grated carrots, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until well combined and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.
Onion Strings Preparation
- 3
Fry the Onion Strings
Soak the thinly sliced onion in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge the soaked onions in the flour mixture and fry in hot oil until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
Burger Preparation
- 4
Cook the Burgers
Divide ground beef into 8 equal portions and shape into patties. Season both sides with salt and black pepper. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side. Flip and place a slice of pepperjack cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the burgers reach desired doneness.
