    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x9 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

  2. 2

    Melt the Butter

In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over low heat. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the melted butter, vanilla extract, and sugar until well combined.

Mixing Ingredients

  1. 4

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until blended.

  2. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Do not overmix.

  3. 6

    Add Optional Add-ins

Fold in chocolate chips and/or chopped nuts if desired.

  1. 7

    Pour into Baking Pan

Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

  2. 8

    Bake

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  3. 9

    Cool and Serve

Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
