Dough Preparation

1. Activate the Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Stir gently and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

2. Mix Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil.

3. Knead the Dough

Mix until a dough starts to form. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

4. Let it Rise

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Pizza

5. Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

6. Prepare the Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into a circle that fits your pizza pan.

7. Layer the First Crust

Place one dough circle in the bottom of the pizza pan. Spread half of the pizza sauce on top of the crust.

8. Add Toppings

Sprinkle half of the shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by half of the pepperoni, bell peppers, mushrooms, and olives.

9. Layer the Second Crust

Roll out the second dough circle and place it over the toppings. Seal the edges by pressing them together. Spread the remaining pizza sauce on top.

10. Top with Cheese

Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese over the top of the second crust.

Baking

11. Bake the Pizza

Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.

12. Cool and Slice

Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve warm.
