Preparation Steps
Prepare the Fish
Pat the Basa fillets dry with paper towels. Season with salt and black pepper on both sides.
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate bowls, place the all-purpose flour, beaten egg, and breadcrumbs. Start heating oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
Bread the Fish
Dredge each Basa fillet first in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. Ensure the fillets are evenly coated.
Fry the Fish
Once the oil is hot, carefully add the breaded fillets. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Make the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, grated carrot, chopped cilantro, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and salt. Mix well until the vegetables are coated.
Prepare the Garlic Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together minced garlic, mayonnaise, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Adjust seasoning to taste.
