Soaking the Fries
Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch.

After soaking, drain the water and pat the fries dry with paper towels to remove moisture.
Coating

Mixing the Coating
In a large bowl, mix together cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Add the dried fries to the bowl and toss them in the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.
Frying

Heating the Oil
In a deep frying pan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

Carefully add the coated fries to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
