Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, habanero powder, salt, and black pepper. Add chicken breasts and ensure they are fully coated. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- 2
Prepare the Breading
In a separate bowl, place the all-purpose flour. Beat the egg and add it to the marinated chicken mixture, then dredge each chicken breast in the flour, ensuring an even coating.
- 3
Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken breasts and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- 4
Make the Habanero Ghost Pepper Aioli
In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, minced garlic, habanero powder, and a pinch of salt. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- 5
Assemble the Sandwich
Spread the habanero aioli on the toasted burger buns. Place the fried chicken on the bottom bun, top with pickles, and cover with the top bun.
