Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken thighs, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Prepare the Breading
In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and cayenne pepper. Take the marinated chicken out of the fridge and let excess buttermilk drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture until well coated.

Fry the Chicken
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the coated chicken thighs. Fry for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and let drain on paper towels.
